The 2022 USA Pickleball National Championships Are Right Around the Corner – Here’s What You Need to Know

Indian Wells, located a few miles away from Palm Springs, California, United States is once again going to hold the Pickleball National Championships in November this year. The Margaritaville USA Pickleball Championships will run from Saturday, November 5th to Sunday, November 13th, at the state-of-the-art Indian Wells Tennis Garden. The Indian Wells Tennis Garden which will hold the Pickleball Championship next month is the second-largest tennis stadium in the world with over 16,000 seats. The competition last year which was held from December 6th to 14th was a bang with over 2,000 participants. The annual Pickleball championship has always been an event to accommodate at least 2,500 players and thousands of passionate pickleball fans every year.  

As the date of the competition inches closer, all eyes are set on these top pickleball players which include; Tyson McGuffin, Lucy Kovalova, Matt Wright, and Anna Leigh Waters. They are the top players in the game.

The Venue

The Indian Wells Tennis Garden’s top-tier facility is a wonderful place to be for every pickleball fan, with an action-packed performance for everyone to enjoy all the action of the game. The stadium also boasts 48 full plexipave courts alongside one incredible Championship Court to host all of the tournament’s best machines.


For a player to be eligible to participate in the tournament, the player must have participated in at least one of the qualifying USA Pickleball sanctioned events between June 28, 2021 and September 11, 2022.

Players with pre-registration invitations will be limited to one event of the same type per gold medal. For example, if a player wins a gold medal at the Great Lakes Regional in ladies’ doubles, that player will receive a pre-registration opportunity for ladies’ doubles (Note: it does not have to be the same skill or age).

Although, it is not necessary to have participated in one-for-one events. For example, if you played mixed in a sanctioned tournament, you are eligible to participate in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles. All participants are required to have a valid USA Pickleball membership through the duration of the National Championships.

Pro event entrants must have a minimum of a 5.0 USA Pickleball Rating by September 19, 2022. Events may open up to 4.5 USA Pickleball rated players, depending on participation levels in each event.

General admission tickets are available starting at just $15 and include access to the venue and Championship Court, while fans can upgrade to VIP packages to unlock unrestricted access to all of the best action and facilities throughout the grounds at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
